Abstract
547,425. Mobile cut-outs. DORMAN & SMITH, Ltd., ATHERTON, T., and LUND, J. Sept. 4,1941, No. 11298. [Class 38(i)] The co-operating contacts of a bridge-carrier fuse comprise fixed contacts 6 of heavy metal with integral cable terminals mounted on the ends of the base 5 and floating contacts 13 in corresponding positions on the fuse carrier 11. The fixed contacts have inclined surfaces 8, 10 such that a constricted space is formed by the ridges 9 through which the carrier must be pressed. The floating contacts are secured to the carrier by engagement with undercut heads 12 and are pressed outwards by springs 14 located in registering recesses in the heads and contacts. When the contacts 13 have passed the ridges 9 they rock into contact with the surfaces 10 and so prevent the carrier from becoming detached from the base.
