Abstract
547,023. Constructional metalwork. BURTON, J. Feb. 3, 1941, No. 1411. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii)] A structural lattice framework member for portable buildings is formed of tubular units each provided with end lugs having projecting perforated faces, the faces on the lugs for units to be joined by a single bolt being so offset and arranged that the units lie in the plane of the framework. As shown applied to a roof truss the truss members such as 21 are provided with end lugs 16 each having a pin portion to enter the end of the tube, a shoulder 17 to abut against the end of the tube and a perforated face portion 18 so offset on the overlapping lugs that the tubular units lie in a single plane when the securing bolt is passed through the lugs at the various joints. The upper members of the truss comprise two inclined spaced tubular units 15 connected together at the ridge and bolted at their lower ends to upstanding angle brackets 33 carried by a plate 13 which rests on the uprights 10 which carry the truss so described in Specification 547,024. These uprights are spaced apart and connected together by longitudinal and diagonal rods 11 secured to them by scaffold clamps. The trusses are connected together by purlins 34 which support the roof plate 35.
