Abstract
545,836. View-finders and telemeters for photographic cameras. LEITZ, GES., E. Dec. 9, 1940, No. 17446. Convention date, Dec. 16, 1939. Addition to 454,063 and 454,064. [Class 98 (i)] In a combined view-finder and telemeter as claimed in the parent Specification the plane separating the two parts of the transparent plate 3, 4, the thickness of which plate is less than the width of the view-finder frame, is so inclined to the optical axis that its edges lie outside the field of vision, and an air-gap separates the two inclined surfaces. The inclined surface 6 of the plate 3 is silvered to form a semi-transparent mirror, and is of less area than the adjacent surface 12 of the plate 4. The end 7 of the plate 4 is inclined as shown so that the lateral beam from the telemeter is so refracted that after successive reflections at the planes 13 and 8 and again at the plane 13 it is in the line of vision. The fan 10 of the prism 9 which directs the rays from the telemeter is parallel to the end 7 of the plate 4.
