Abstract

542,646. Lantern fronts. DOANE PRODUCTS CORPORATION. June 19, 1940. Convention date, July 8, 1939. [Class 75 (ii)] An elongated lightsource 25, Fig. 4, provided with a reflector 26, is screened by a sheet of louvred material A consisting mainly of transparent strips, which are separated by relatively narrow translucent strips, so as to limit the spread of directly transmitted light. The material is produced by assembling alternate transparent and translucent sheets of plastic material, moulding them together, and shearing the mass transversely. A reticulated screen, Fig. 3, may be produced by combining screens of the forms shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The screen may be plane or troughshaped, and the louvres may be oblique to its surface. The louvred screen may be combined with sheets of material having a prismatic surface.
