Abstract
542,335. Pneumatic shock absorbers. HANN, K. G., and ELLIOT EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Sept. 11, 1940, No. 14097. [Class 108 (iii)] Shock absorbers, especially for cushioning impact with the ground of objects falling from a height consist of one or more readily deflatable air containers B of cylindrical or like shape between end plates A, E of rigid textile or other material. Each container is made of gas proof fabric or rubber sheet and is perforated sufficiently to act as a cushion and to prevent bouncing. Light springs D restore the shape after impact. The end plates may be held by ropes having their ends splayed and stuck to the ends of the cylindrical containers.
