Abstract
541,011. Vitamins. HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO., AKT.-GES., F., and POLLAK, J. E. March 18, 1939, No. 7883/40. Divided out of and addition to 539,697. [Class 2 (iii)] dl-oc-Tocopherol having vitamin E activity is prepared by heating trimethylhydroquinone monophytyl ether, prepared according to Specification 527,006, to effect re-arrangement and then treating the product with an acidic condensing agent such as zinc chloride. An example is given. Specification 526,884 also is referred to.
