Abstract

551,584. Vinylidene chloride. DISTILLERS CO., Ltd., and GALITZENSTEIN, E. G. Aug. 25, 1941, No. 10848. [Class 2 (iii)] Vinylidene chloride is stabilized against polymerization by adding a soluble carbonnitrogen ring compound of basic character such as pyridine, quinoline, picoline or nicotine. The stabilizer may be removed when desired by fractional distillation or by treatment with an aqueous mineral acid. A distillation may be effected after separation from the aqueous acid.
