Patentanspruch: Verfahren zum Trocknen von rohem, feuchtem Vinylchlorid durch Destillation, wobei vor und bzw. oder während der Destillation mit Wasser oder mit Vinylchlorid und Wasser mischbare Stoffe, die den Gefrierpunkt des Wassers senken, und Polymerisationsverzögerer zugefügt werden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man den den Gefrierpunkt des Wassers senkenden Stoffen als Polymerisationsverzögerer aliphatische, cycloaliphatische oder heterocyclische Amine oder Gemischederselben in solchen Mengen zufügt, daß das rohe Vinylchlorid einen pH-Wert zwischen 8 und 12, vorzugsweise p, 10, hat.
