Abstract
537,996. Conduit systems for buildings. WICKHAM, F. V., and SUTTON, E. J. Feb. 22, 1940, No. 3363. [Class 20 (ii)] An underfloor electric-wire conduit system comprises downwardly extending outlets with side outlets for branch tubes, to enable the conduits to be positioned after the heavy concreting or bricklaying operations have been completed, thus preventing injuries to the conduits. Tubular outlets 10 are positioned and concrete is then laid to a level to secure them in. position. A tubular sleeve 9 with side outlets 14 and with tubes 15 is then secured to each of these outlets, and the level of the concrete is then raised to surround the tubes. The floor is then finished and the conduits 5 may then be positioned with the junction-boxes 2 disposed over the outlet tubes, thus providing branch connections for switches and ceiling fittings from the junction-boxes.
