Abstract
537,836. Thermionic valves; electron oscillators. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Jan 11, 1940, No. 650. Convention date, Jan. 25, 1939. [Class 39 (i)] A resonator for a transmitting valve is comprised of two hemispherical portions a, b with opposed flanges c enclosing the envelope i which is preferably of quartz. The anode g is connected to the portion a, and sleeve e, carrying the grid d, to the portion b. The connection is made by sleeves g, h, on which the portions a, b can move longitudinally to adjust the capacity. The capacity below the flanges c is of the same order as the grid-anode capacity. The arrangement is preferably such that voltage anodes occur at the sleeves g, h and the leads are attached to them. The anode and the sleeve e are water-cooled. The cathode leads m pass out at the anode end of the valve through quartz sleeves r, q to metal poles o, p which serve as terminals and removable sealing- pieces. A quartz exhaust tube is provided.
