Abstract

529,882. Thermionic valves. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and YOUNG, A. J. June 9, 1939, No. 17018. [Class 39 (i)] A multigrid valve is provided with a short auxiliary anode or anodes arranged symmetrically within the end of the cathode and connected to the suppressor grid either inside or outside the tube. The invention is particularly applicable to pentodes in which audio frequency modulation is applied to the suppressor grid. In the arrangement shown the cathode 2 is a filament of double V form and a rod forming an anode projects symmetrically into the open end of each V.
