Abstract

537,167. Valve generating circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. April 30, 1940, No. 7798. Convention date, May 3, 1939. [Class 40 (v)] In a crystal-controlled oscillator having a trimming impedance, e.g. condenser Cl, for slightly changing the frequency generated, and additional impedance, e.g. an inductance L1 which may be shunted by a condenser C2, is so dimensioned that variation of the trimming impedance results in a linear percentage change of the frequency generated, as indicated upon the dial S. A condenser C3 in parallel with Cl serves to adjust the zero of the dial at the desired nominal frequency. Alternatively, the inductance L1 may be in series with the condenser Cl. The invention is particularly useful for ultra-high frequency generators.
