Abstract

536,320. Tractor-trailer couplings. WEAKLEY, F. J. Feb. 22, 1940, No. 3360. [Class 103 (v) ] A coupling unit for attaching trailers to motor &c. vehicles comprises a frame having a pair of hinged members one at each side of the frame and adapted to be folded together to lie close to the vehicle or part attached thereto when not in use. As shown in plan, Fig. 3, members 2, 3 are pivoted to member 1 attached to the vehicle and are connected by a cottar pin which can be taken out to allow the folding together of the members 2, 3 upon member 1, the members all being made channel-shaped to fold compactly.
