Abstract

536,270. Liquid-fuel burners. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP DE BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ. Nov. 28, 1939, No. 31014. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1938. [Class 75 (i)] The perforated shells 4, 5 between which liquid-fuel vaporized in an annular trough 1 burns taper upwardly. Preferably the outer shell is of truncated conical form and the inner shell is nearly or completely conical so that a solid flame is produced at the top. Additional air which may be at above atmospheric pressure may be supplied near the top 8 of the inner shell. The shells 4, 5 and a protecting shell 7 are united by bars 6, 6'. The trough 1 is provided with an asbestos or cotton wick 2 and is fed with fuel through a tube 3 from a constant level container. Alternatively fuel may be supplied to the trough from a lower container by wicks.
