536,135. Boiler furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. Nov. 2, 1939, No. 29211. Convention date, Dec. 27, 1938. [Class 51 (i)] [Also in Group XIII] A tube 10 of a fluid-cooled boiler furnace or like wall has ribs 12 consisting of U or T-shaped stud plates welded to the tubes and forming continuous flat plate surfaces on one face of the tube wall. The transverse ribs 23 on the other side of the wall may serve to hold refractory material. A wall may separate a furnace chamber from a radiation duct, as described in Specification 497,718.
