Abstract

530,060. Heating water by electricity. AALBREGT, A., and MUNCASTER, F. W. June 13, 1939, No. 17218. [Class 39 (iii)] An immersion heater comprises three or more blade like heating members 10 of rectangular or oval cross-section and grouped in spaced relationship in triangular or polygonal formation around a central space through which the water may circulate in contact with the heating members. Rings 11 holding the members in positions may be so adjusted that the spaces between the members increase towards their upper ends or they may be bowed outwards. The elements contain bends of insulating material strung on coiled wire. The wire may be more closely wound at the bottom than at the top of a member. A thermostat 18 extends downwards between the heating members.
