529,312. Rolling. LOBKOWITZ, G. B., and STEELWORKS DESIGN, Ltd. May 25, 1939, No. 15582. [Class 83 (iv)] A universal or continuous rolling-mill has the vertical rolls 5 adjustable at 15 to and from the pass line so that if an edging pass is not required the vertical rolls can be withdrawn. The horizontal rolls only have a reversing motor drive and the vertical rolls are driven by a non-reversing variable speed motor 9 through gearing 8. Guides 11 are simultaneously adjustable, through the gearing indicated, by a motor 14.
