Abstract
1,075,438. Rolling. LAMINOIRS ET USINES DU RUAU S.A. Oct. 22, 1965 [Oct. 24, 1964], No. 44778/65. Heading B3M. A continuous two-core rolling mill for small section steel and wire comprises stands, the last four of which are horizontal stands 1, 2, Fig. 1, and vertical stands 3, 4, with guides between the stands. Multi-grooved rolls 5, Fig. 2 (not shown), of stands 1, 2, are driven by motors 9 through gear reduction drives 8, pinion drives 7 and spindles 6. Roll pairs 12, 13 of each vertical stand are staggered relative to each other, the housings of these rolls are adjustable in the direction along the roll axes, and the horizontal stands 1, 2 are slidable on sole plates 14. Roll pairs 12, 13 are driven by a motor 18 through a main shaft 19, bevel drives (20), (21), Fig. 4 (not shown), gears (22-25) and spindles (15), (16).
