Abstract
528,258. Glucose. CORN PRODUCTS REFINING CO. May 1, 1939, No. 13029. Con. vention date, May 19, 1938. [Class 127] In obtaining crystallized dextrose from starch conversion liquors as described in Specifications 227,140 and 232,160, [both in Class 127], non- crystallizable sugar contained in the liquid is converted into dextrose by treating the liquor with acid at ordinary or crystallizing temperature and without the use of steam under pressure as described in Specifications 290,847 and 303,142, [both in Class 127]. In an example, hydrol, after concentration, is introduced into a crystallizer and is mixed with massecuite from a previous crystallization. When crystallization has ceased, hydrochloric or other strong acid is added. Further crystallization takes place. The addition of acid may be repeated and further yields of crystals are obtained.
