Abstract
489,937. Dextrose. INTERNATIONAL PATENTS DEVELOPMENT CO. Jan. 30, 1937, No. 2836. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1936. [Class 127] In producing crystalline dextrose from dextrose solution obtained by conversion of starch, the mother liquor from the first crystallization vessel (first greens) is submitted to a further conversion to increase the amount of dextrose before it is submitted to a second crystallization. The converted liquor from a converter A, into which starch, acid, and water are introduced, is neutralized, refined and concentrated in a vessel B and passed through a cooler C into a crystallizer D containing foots from a previous crystallization. The crystallized mass is passed into a centrifugal E, from which the mother liquor is passed to a tank F in which it is diluted, and from which it is run to a second converter G in which it is mixed with hydrochloric acid and subjected to steam pressure. The converted liquid is neutralized in a vessel H, and passed through rag filter I, a bone-char filter J, concentrator K, a second bone-char filter L, a vacuum concentrator M, cooler N to a second crystallizer O and thence to a centrifugal P. The crystallized sugar may be melted in a vessel Q and added to the converted liquid at the refining stage B. Specifications 227,140, 232,160, 290,847, and 303,142, [all in Class 127], are referred to.
