[Class 131] In a dry shaver having a rotary or oscillating cutter 44 with radial teeth 46 co-operating with radial cutting teeth 24 on a fixed shear plate 20, an annular guard is formed by slotting the end of the sleeve 32 to form teeth 36 registering with and abutting against the teeth 24. The cutter 46 may be pressed outwards by a spring 52 and may be rotated by a pinion 56 or oscillated by a pin-and-slot device. Fig. 7 shows a construction wherein the guard teeth 110 surround a central hollow, bounded by the shear plate teeth 102 and the cutter teeth 106. Fig. 8 shows a dished construction with inner and outer annular guard members 150, 146 for the co-operating shear and cutter teeth 136, 140. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that the cutter may have spirally-contoured teeth 72, Fig. 7 (Cancelled) The shear plate may be convex or it may be given a frustro-conical form, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), with teeth 82 co-operating with the teeth 94 of the rotating-cutter. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
