528,510. Dry shavers. ELECTRIC RAZOR CORPORATION. March 28, 1939, Nos. 9643, 9644 and 9645. Convention dates, March 31, 1938, May 16, 1938 and Oct. 1, 1938. i[Class 131] A dry shaver is constructed with a guard member having a shearing slot and a co-operating shearing member moving relatively to each other, the guard member being a secondary guard member and is mounted for oscillation about the shearing member and below a fixed primary guard. The fixed guard member 11 has a wide slot formed in it bordered at its edges by bulbous members 13, 14. Arranged to oscillate within the member 11 is a secondary guard member 20 having a narrow slot or slots 21 therein through which the hair to be cut passes. Within the member 20, which is oscillated by power or spring through a link 31, is a fixed cutter or shear member 22 having a cutting edge 24. In modifications the outer fixed guard may take the form of rods, the secondary guard member may be oscillated and also reciprocated axially and the shear member may be pivoted and be moved in relation to the slot of the secondary guard member at appropriate times.
