Abstract
521,570. Alternating-current motors. JAPOLSKY, N. Nov. 22, 1938, No. 33962. [Class 35] A two-pole rotor for a synchronous motor is provided with a starting and synchronising winding consisting of a number of flat short circuited conductors arranged in slots in the rotor parallel to each other and to the rotor axis. These slots 5 are preferably of the same width and at a distance apart equal to this width. The conductors 4 may be separated at their ends by copper packing pieces 6 through which pass. rivets 7. The middle conductor may be a tight fit in its slot, so as to centre the rotor laminae, while the others are covered with a layer of insulating varnish. The ends of the conductors and packing-pieces may be recessed to receive the two-part motor-shaft 8, which is secured by a rivet 11.
