521,102. Helicopters. HARWOOD, D. Nov. 8, 1938, No. 32305. [Class 4] An aircraft comprises a series of lifting screws 12 on normally vertical shafts 11 at the sides of a fuselage, the shafts 11 being driven by bevel gearing 9, 10 from transverse shafts 5a driven through bevel gearing 8 from central transverse shafts 5, the gearing 8 also driving two longitudinal shafts 7, one on each side of the machine, connected to tractor screws 18. The shafts 11 are tiltable in unison by a lever 20 which is connected through a link 25 and transverse shafts 26 to blocks 15 working in curved guides 16.
