Abstract
364,986. Machines with vibratory wings. KERN, H., Tellnitz, Bohemia, Czecho-Slovakia. May 6, 1931, No. 13424. [Class 4.] A machine with a tractor propeller 4 has vibratory wings 14, fitted with louvres 16, pivoted at the edges of planes 15 and connected by links 11 to cranks on fore and aft shafts 9. There are two shafts 9 on each side of the machine driven by bevel gear 8 from a transverse shaft 7 adapted to be clutched to a shaft carrying a worm wheel 6a engaging a worm 6 on an inclined shaft 5 of the engine. The planes 15 may be tiltable about the axis of the shafts 7. The louvres 16 have stops to limit their opening.
