[Class 135] A proportioning-device for regulating' the relative flow of fluids, such as gas and air, comprises interconnected valves which control the supply of the two fluids and are operated by the difference in pressure between the pressure. in one fluid and a pressure caused by that fluid after passing through a restricted bye-pass and being influenced by a restricted release. The passage of air from an inlet 3 to an outlet 4 is governed by a piston 7, which controls outlet passages 8. The piston is connected by a rod 28 with a second piston 27, which controls the passage of gas from an inlet 18 to an outlet chamber 15. A rotatable ported sleeve 20 adjusts the proportion of gas to air. A bye-pass 9 leads from the air-inlet below the piston 7 to the space above the piston through an adjustable restriction 31. The bye-pass communicates with the atmosphere through a release 11, controlled by an adjustable cock 12. The release 11 is first opened, so that the full air pressure is applied to the piston 7, which rises' and opens the inlet to the maximum. The quantity of air and gas supplied is reduced to any desired extent by partial closure of the release. This causes a pressure to be built up behind the piston 7, which descends until the air passing the restriction 31 equals in amount that escaping from the release.
