517,325. Pipe joints. JUDSON, C. A. July 19, 1938, No. 21424. [Class 99 (i)] A manifold or like pipe comprises rigid branch pipes or junction-pieces secured to a rigid main duct by an adherent bonding of flexible and resilient material situated between and adhering to overlapping parts of the joint. In one form the cross-piece 20 of a tee surrounds the main 10, the branch 22 registering with an opening 12. Synthetic rubber in paste form is inserted in the shallow annular recesses 15 and the assembly is vulcanized to cause the rubber to adhere to the parts. The tee may be slit so that pressure can be applied during vulcanizing. Other forms of junctionpiece are described.
