Abstract

517,075. Yarns. WILD, H, July 16, 1938, No. 21136. [Class 120 (iii)] A staple fibre yarn is made from a mixture containing a substantial proportion of fibres made from continuous filaments having a basis of an organic derivative of cellulose, a lesser proportion of wool fibres and another lesser proportion of cellulose fibres. The cellulose derivative, e.g., cellulose acetate in all cases exceeds 33<1>/3 per cent but preferably comprises at least 50 per cent. of'the mixture, the wool 25 per cent. and the cellulose fibre, e.g., cotton viscose or fibres of a saponified organic ester of cellulose 25 per cent. The yarn may be doubled with other yarns, e.g., a "staplized" yarn, i.e., one produced by severing the filaments of a continuous filament yarn at intervals along the yarn and the "staplized" yarn may be wrapped around the mixed fibre yarn; the "staplized" yarn may be made from bright filaments to contrast with the mixed fibre yarn. Specifications 345,022, 356,681, 467,251, and 513,033 are referred to.
