Abstract

514,784. Ambulance vehicles. LOMAS, Ltd., H., and LOMAS, A. May 16, 1938, No. 14501. [Class 108 (i)] A stretcher-carrier or platform A for an ambulance vehicle is hinged at its ends to a supporting frame B carrying a fixed seat b<5>, the hinges being movable on the frame, e.g., by being mounted on slides b' engaging guide rails b thereon, thus enabling the platform, on which a stretcher C is fixed, to be moved towards the forward part of the supporting frame before it is swung about its hinges B' from its horizontal position to a vertical or substantially vertical position in which it forms the back of the seat. The platform is held in the horizontal position by pins a' thereon engaging apertures b<4> on the frame B and is provided with angles a<1> forming guides for the stretcher runners c and with straps &c. to retain the stretcher and bedding therefor in position. The frame may constitute' a locker having a door b<3>
