Abstract

511,957. Bookbinding; filing papers. DAVIES, H. V. Feb. 25, 1938, No. 6065. [Classes 16 and 146 (i)] A binder for a pack of sheets 15 comprises separate back and front cover boards 6 of cardboard &c. each having a strip 8 of stiff material hinged to its back edge and normally doubledover against the board to face the opposite board, two or more close-coiled helical springs 11 threaded through registering holes in the sheets; and, for each spring, two substantially flatheaded nails 2, 3 of which the heads are located respectively between the two strips 8 and their associated cover boards and of which the shanks 12 are substantially smooth (i.e., without screwthreading) and pass through the respective strips into the end turns of the spring to make frictional engagement therewith.
