Abstract

485,477. Loose - leaf books. BURN & CO., Ltd., J. (Trussell Manufacturing Co.) Nov. 25, 1936, No. 32327. [Class 146 (i)] In a loose-leaf book the sheets 4 are provided along an edge with T-shaped slots, the crossbars 8 of which each house a pair of closed binding-rings 5 made of flexible material and disposed substantially parallel with each other at a distance apart greater than the width of the leg 9 of the T-slot. The binding-element comprising the rings 5 is made from a continuous length of wire, and is of the kind described in Specifications 447,231 and 461,620, and the binding-case or cover 1 may be constructed as described in Specification 466,752. If desired, a binding-element having the form of a coil spring may be used, or each pair of rings 5 may be made from a separate or two separate lengths of wire, and fixed to a common connecting-bar. The binding-element may be made of synthetic material instead of wire. To enable a sheet to be inserted, a comb-shaped member 11 is provided having teeth 12 which are tapered so that they can be inserted in the spaces between the pairs of rings 5 to press the pairs of rings together.
