Loose leaves or folders 1, 7 adapted to be held in a binder each comprise a folded edge 3, 6 provided with perforations 2 and a wire 4 or like element in the fold 5 and extending across the perforations 2 for engagement by rings or like elements in the binder, the wire being thin spring steel and permanently secured in the fold 5 by means such as adhesive or welding. The folded part 3 may be of thermoplastic material so that the wire is embedded therein. As shown in Fig. 1, the marginal edge 3 is integral with a sheet 1 and gummed on one side, the wire 4 being laid along the centres of the perforations 2 so that when the edge 3 is turned over and secured, small perforations 2<SP>1</SP> are obtained. As shown in Fig. 5, a separate strip 6 is secured to narrow sheets 7, 7<SP>1</SP> of cardboard and between them samples 8 may be secured by staples 9. The wire 4 is positively secured by pressing the strip 6 against itself along the line 6a In a modification, not shown, the strip 6 is secured to two single sheets 1, the edges of which may be secured to form a pocket. In a further modification, not shown, the folded over edge 3 extends only over part of the sheet. As shown in Fig. 8, a second wire 4<SP>1</SP> having bent portions to form loops 10 with the wire 4 is also secured in the fold 5.
