510,635. Alloys; annealing. HEINKEL, E. June 27, 1938, No. 19017. Convention date, June 28, 1937. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] An age-hardenable alloy suitable for rivets, strips, sheets, and other parts consists of aluminium with 1-2.9 per cent. of copper, 1-3 per cent. of magnesium, less than 1.2 per cent. of silicon, less than 1.2 per cent. of manganese, and less than 0.5 per cent. of iron and titanium. The copper content may be within 20 per cent. of the difference between the magnesium content and 4 per cent. Parts made of the alloy are heated at about 500‹C., quenched, and age-hardened. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the range of copper extends to 3 per cent. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
