Abstract
508,730. Making chains. GORDON, S. H. March 15, 1938, No. 8043. [Class 83 (ii)] A chain cable link of the kind having a transverse stud is formed from two half links 10 which abut along the longitudinal axis of the link, each half link carrying one half of the stud 12, the half links being connected by electric resistance welding. The ends of the half links may be provided with excess metal 14 to be joined by welding while the studs meet and are not' united or the studs may also be provided with excess metal and be joined by welding in addition to the stud-ends.
