506,475. De-coupling of high voltage rectifiers. PATENTERWERTUNGSGES. HERMES. Aug. 10, 1938, No. 23639. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1937. [Class 38 (ii)] In gas - or vapour - filled high voltage rectifiers having one or more intermediate electrodes between the anode and cathode, for which the potentials for the intermediate electrodes are derived from a potential divider connected between the anode and cathode circuits, the potential divider is decoupled from the anode circuit by an impedance. This impedance, which is not ironcored, may be an autotransformer so that impulses 180‹ out of phase may be fed to the intermediate electrodes to neutralize the effect of the anode-intermediate electrode capacities. The same method may be used to neutralize the capacities between the intermediate electrodes. In the Figure, an autotransformer 12 supplies impulses, 180‹ out of phase with the variations at the anode, to the potential dividing condensers 19 ... 25. Further autotransformers 16, 17, 18 neutralize the capacities between the intermediate electrodes 4 ... 7.
