Abstract
506,442. Starting dog races. ROTHFARB, G. Feb. 2, 1938, No. 3236. [Class 132 (i)] In a starting trap for greyhound racing, the iloor 6 of the trap is adapted to be moved backwards automatically when the door 1 has opened sufficiently to give a free exit for the dogs. The movement of the door releases a catch 9 through rod and lever 12 and 11 and thus permits spring 8 to move the floor back. When the door is closed again an abutment 14 thereon engages with levers 15 which are thereby actuated to pull the floor forward until catch 9 can drop again behind abutment 10 on the floor. In an alternative construction the release and resetting mechanism may be both actuated by the same lever connection from the door.
