Abstract
500,924. Gun mountings. JUNKERS FLUGZEUG - UND - MOTORENWERKE AKT.-GES. April 29, 1938, No. 12869. Convention date, April 30; 1937. [Class 92 (i)] In a gun mounting for aircraft and other vehicles the gun 1 is supported for rotation about its longitudinal axis in a transparent disc 5 which is sufficiently rigid to support the gun against recoil, the rotation of the gun allowing the sight line X.-X to be brought vertically over the gun's axis in all positions of the mount. The invention is shown applied to an aircraft gun mounting as described in Specification 472,096. The gun is spherically jointed at the centre of a dome-shaped circular window 5 which, in the present instance, is fixed to a frame 4 adjustable about trunnions 15 in a diametral slot 12 in a hood 13 movable on a race 25 about the fore-and-aft axis of the aircraft.
