Abstract
499,112. Sight - testing apparatus. STREIT, W. HAAG-..May 12, 1938, No. 14215. Convention date, May 13, 1937. [Class 97 (i)] Eye examining instruments are mounted on an adjusting carriage 1 movable lengthwise on a shaft 8 supported at its ends so that it can roll parallel with itself, the carriage also having a third point of support 3, adapted for sliding or rolling movement. The support 3 may comprise a ball or roller with an operating handle 5. Coarse adjustment is obtained by sliding the carriage on support 3 and fine adjustment is obtained by operating handle 5 to roll the ball or roller. The carriage is provided with a tubular portion 6 sliding on shaft 8, and the shaft has milled wheels 12 running on rubber tracks 13 at each end.
