Abstract

498,732. Glazing vehicle windows. SLEIGH, H. L., and CHESTON, A. S. June 3, 1938, No. 16618. Addition to 442,552. [Class 20 (iii)] The flexible window-glazing channel described in the parent Specification is hereby formed on its undersurface with a stepped portion 5 which engages with a correspondingly shaped shoulder 8 on the base portion 6 of the fixed frame, in order to prevent the rear wall 13 of the channel from rising during the fitting in position of the window panel. The upper corner of the shoulder 8 may be rounded and the stepped portion 5 of the channel shaped correspondingly. The fixed frame may comprise a rear wall member 11 separate from the base member 6, as shown. In a modification, the rear wall 13 of the channel is extended above the other wall 2 and may be formed with a projecting arcuate rib, which is more or less flattened out, giving a firm pressure on the face of the glass, when the latter is placed in position.
