Abstract
493,197. Cartons. HESHE, K., and WESTERVIKS PAPPERSBRUKS AKTIEBOLAG. May 3, 1938, No. 13132. [Class 18] A carton for eggs &c. comprises a wrapper 16 and an insert consisting of a blank folded to form parallel troughs and subdivided by partitions 5 passing through slots in the walls of the troughs. Each slot consists of a narrow part 2 and a wider part 3 so that, when the insert is released from its collapsed state, the partitions 5 swing round at right-angles to the walls of the troughs which are all positioned in slots 4 in the partitions, and the outer walls of the troughs spring outwards until they contact with the corners of the partitions, at which point they enter slots 9. The eggs are cushioned by flaps 14 .and apertures are provided in the bases 13 of the troughs to enable the eggs to be candled. The cover flaps of the wrapper have flanges 17 which seat in the slots 4.
