[Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XI] The portion of the envelope of a device to which the cap is to be cemented is roughened by melting into it alumina, or other metal oxide, or fine sand, or powdered pumice or charcoal. The material may be painted or stuck on the bulb, which is then heated, or it may be projected or blown onto the heated glass.
