[Class 110 (i)] In screw fans with blades having a continuously-variable inclination, one surface of each pair of contacting surfaces is made of self-lubricating material. The fan motor may have an internal rotor connected to a bladecarrying member, or an external rotor directly carrying the blades, and in each case the central shaft carries or is surrounded by a stationary worm 14 engaging worm-wheels 15 mounted on pins 16 mounted on the blade-casing and carrying crank-pins 19 with rollers or sliding blocks 33 engaging in slots 34 in blade arms 22. The blade trunnions 23 are mounted in bushes 25 in the bosses 24. The parts 15, 25, and 33 are made of self-lubricating material, such as a moulded insulating fabric impregnated with graphite.
