Abstract

503,971. Screw fans. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and JACOBY. H. C. E. Nov. 5, 1937, No. 30396. [Class 110 (i)] In an electric fan wherein the rake of the blades is continually varied as described in Specification 364,681, the fan blades are rotated by an internal rotor 4 with shaft 5 passing through a stationary toothed member 11 engaged by toothed members connected to the blades 7. Member 11 comprises a sleeve secured by a flange 12 to the stator casing 6 or formed integral with the casing. The blades are mounted on trunnions 14 with self-lubricating bushes 16 carried by a cup-shaped member 8 secured to the shaft 5 and enclosing the toothed members, member 8 with the blades being readily detachable from the shaft 5. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 490,962.
