[Class 92 (i)] A gun 1 is detachably connected to its cradle 2 by interengaging inclined members 11, 15, the engagement between which increases under the action of the recoil. For this purpose, the distance between the inclines and the gun's axis increases progressively from front to rear. The members 11, 15 are kept in engagement by a rearward force applied by a lever 20, an eccentric surface 22 on which presses against a corresponding surface on the front member 11 under the action of a spring 24. A finger-piece 21 permits of ready release of the parts.
