Abstract
490,084. Hinges. LANE CO., Inc. May 4, 1937, No. 12736. Convention date, June 22, 1936. [Class 65 (ii)] A stop hinge for the lid of a chest comprises a plate 10 fixed to the underside of the lid and formed with a perpendicular part 18 offset from the hingepin 12 and a member 13 fixed to the back of the chest and also formed with a perpendicular offset part 15, the parts 18, 15 coming into contact to limit the opening of the lid. The hinge-pin 12 connecting the two parts 10, 13 engages ears 16 forming extensions of the sides of the part 13 and ears 19 formed at the edges of the part 10 and fitting between the ears 16. The part 15 is shaped to give frictional engagement with the member 10 to cushion the stopping action and to hold the lid open. Specification 490,085 is referred to.
