490,024. Catamenial and like tampons. DEHN, F. B. (Holly-Pax, Inc.) Feb. 6, 1937, No. 3634. [Class 81 (ii)] A tampon, especially for catamenial purposes, consists of a strip of fibrous absorbent material 12a wound into a roll and then compressed radially inward substantially to the limit of compressibility of the material. A pull cord 13a is looped over the inner end of the strip, which may be doubled back upon itself, prior to the winding and extends from the finished tampon 10a. This may be round, square, oblong, or oval in cross-section. Suitable materials are cottonwool, flax fibre, cellucotton, and wool. Specification 394,571 is referred to.
