Abstract
488,962. Vehicle wheels. SOC. ITALIANA BREVETTI INVENZIONI (S.I.B.I.) Feb. 22, 1937, No. 5334. Convention date, Feb. 20, 1936. [Class 144 (i)] A resilient hub, of the kind described in Specification 467,164, comprises a rectangular frame 5 slidably mounted between rollers or bolts 2 .. 2<111> which connect the outer flange 3 to a flange 1<1> on the axle-sleeve 1. Fitted between the frame 5 and disc 3 is a spider 4 fixed to the wheel-rim 10 and having its arms 4a guided between pairs of rollers 6-6<1>, 6<11>-5<111> on the frame 5. Vertical displacements of the latter are transmitted through a cup 11 and ball 12 to the cupped end 13 of a sleeve 14 enclosing an axial-thrust spring 15. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also (a) means for enclosing the wheel parts comprising a disc extending across the outer face of the wheel and, at the inner side, a floating disc slidably fitted between a pair of discs secured to the rim and hub ; and (b) a modification in which the arms 4a of the cross-member are grooved to engage single studs on the flange 1<1>. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
