Abstract

488,624. Knitting-machines. CLARKE, A. V. Jan. 11, 1937, No. 820. [Class 74 (ii)] The invention relates to means for displacing the upper needle cylinder of a double-cylinder machine, and the apparatus in one form is the same as that described in Specification 485,925. In a modification, plates 26<1>, 27<1> are arranged upon the sleeve 24<1> above the upper cylinder, and a compression spring 30<1> is arranged between the two plates. The plate 26<1> is fixed to the sleeve, and the plate 27<1> is freely rotatable about it. The plate 27<1>, and therefore the plate 26<1> and upper cylinder are held against normal rotation when an abutment 300 on the plate 27<1> engages a pattern-controlled stop member 302.
