Abstract
442,836. Knitting-machines. HEMPHILL CO., Central Falls, Rhode Island, U.S.A. -(Assignees of Lawson, R. H.; 55, Cooke Street, Pawtucket, and Gagne, A. ; 107, Hendrick Street, Central Falls, both in Rhode Island, U.S.A.) Oct. 2, 1935, No. 27212. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1934. [Class 74 (ii)] In a circular knitting-machine the means for arresting the sinker cam cap at the ends of its limited angular motion at the beginning of each reciprocation of the needle cylinder is constructed to reduce or absorb shock. As shown, adjustable stops 12 on the sinker cap 5 engage an arm 14 which has limited motion about its pivot 18 between adjustable screws 37, 38, the rotation of the pivot 18 in its bearing being checked by adjustable spring- pressed brakes 31, 32. The arm 14 is held in its normal position as shown or in a vertical position by a spring-pressed plunger 28.
