[Class 141 ] A skirt or skirted garment is formed of separate strips 2, which are joined together at their longer edges, and some or all of which are folded lengthwise to form pleats 3 which are stitched at the folds or creases. The edges of the strips 2 are turned inwardly, and stitched or bound with tape 5. The strips 2 are shaped to provide a flare effect. In a modification, the skirt is formed with inwardly and outwardly directed folds or creases. According to the Provisional Specification, the folds of the pleats may be secured by means other than stitching.
